Under general supervision, maintains inventory of water and wastewater materials, parts, tools, equipment, and supplies. Allocate parts, tools, equipment, and supplies and/or manage inventory and warehouse, stockrooms, yard, and equipment.
General supervision is provided by the Finance Manager.
The following is a summary of essential functions and duties required for the position of Inventory Warehouse Clerk. · Physically count deliveries and shipments received before placing them in stock.
· Maintain an accurate, up-to-date inventory of warehouse, tools, and other materials as assigned.
· Count and record/post inventory, maintain inventory records, files, and prepare reports.
· Package anything that is to be shipped out (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling, etc.).
· Stage anything that needs shipping for loading.
· Load and unload materials and supplies from trucks or other delivery vehicles.
· Move materials to the warehouse and organize in accordance with the procedures set up by management.
· Move waste from warehouse or grounds to dumpsters.
· Turn off and lock up equipment when not in use.
· Assist in the ordering of material and supplies for inventory purposes.
· Complete and maintain daily logs, inventory lists, check-out forms and any other required forms in the system inventory software.
· Certify receipt of supplies, materials, and equipment; warehouse and distribute according to administrative regulations and procedures.
· Generate requisitions, receive, and close purchase orders in the system inventory software.
· Maintain filing system, compile records for ordering, shipping, and receiving in the warehouse and in the system inventory software.
· Pick up materials from vendors as needed.
· On call, after hours, and overnight as needed to release or deliver materials for emergency leaks.
· Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, officials, and the public.
· Perform duties of Warehouse personnel as necessary during absences to ensure continuity of operations.
· Maintains safe work practices according to District’s rules and policies.
· Perform any other duties as assigned by the Finance Manager.

Education and Experience Guidelines- Below is a summary of the minimum educational qualification requirements for position of Inventory Warehouse Clerk.
Experience: Three (3) years of clerical and inventory control work to include requisitioning, shipping, receiving, or storing materials, supplies, parts, or equipment. Keyboard and Personal Computer knowledge required. Bilingual Preferred (English and Spanish)
· Texas Class “C” Driver’s License and must have acceptable driving record.
· Forklift operator certification or be able to obtain within ninety (90) days of appointment to position.

Environment: This position works within an internal warehouse environment, with exposure to dust and mechanical hazards. Occasional exposure to fumes and odors. May be exposed to extreme weather conditions, potential physical harm, and dangerous equipment. Subject to call back, standby, and working flexible hours, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
Physical: Light physical work involves bending, stooping, climbing, and reaching above shoulder height; lift, push and pull up to eighty pounds. This position will involve recurring physical activity, climbing ladders, walking, stoop, and bend, if required. Repetitive hand movement in the use of personal computers.
Vision: Must be able tosee in the normal visual range, with or without corrective devices. Must be able to read.
Hearing: Must be abletohear in the normal audio range, with or without corrective devices.
Personal Protective Equipment Required: Required to comply with requirements as specified in regulations for personal protective equipment including hard hat, safety vest, eye protection, safety gloves, and steel-toe shoes.
