Position Summary
Chord Energy is seeking an innovative and results driven Petrotechnical professional specializing in Development planning for Bakken Assets. This role will be part of the Development team interfacing with multiple disciplines to create development pads involving multiple wells. Candidate needs relevant technical skills and project management background to create plans of development interacting with drilling, completions, facility and reservoir engineering. This engineer will have a proven history of applying advanced technical engineering skills, performing complex project analysis, and collaborating with a wide variety of sub-surface disciplines. The position will report to the Development Planning Director and is based in downtown Houston, TX. Hybrid work schedule is an option for remote work on Mondays and Fridays. Essential Job Functions* Desire to participate in a company with strong EH&S goals
•Create and develop surface use plans and pad designs in coordination with field teams
•Interact with Drilling and Completions Engineering teams to develop strategy for Execution phase
•Develop surface use plans to effectively gather all produced fluids to central tank batteries while coordinating with Midstream Services and Marketing
•Create Fluid Disposition Plans including gross and net volume projections for sizing equipment, pipeline timing and Marketing options while focusing on capital efficiency and EH&S
•Maintain project development schedules to keep relevant parties informed, maintain options to accelerate or decelerate projects to meet corporate goals
•Collaborate with Regulatory to acquire APD’s for wells, Develop working understanding of State and Federal Regulations relevant to development decisions
•Coordinate plans for salt water disposal (SWD) wells
•Prepare Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) packages for executive approval
•Testify at State hearings as necessary to develop or modify spacing units, resolve operator status, amend setback provisions and SWD applications
•Apply innovative ideas to create value through strong planning to assist Execution team
•Other duties as assigned by manager

Minimum Qualifications* Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
•Previous internship experience in multiple disciplines including: production, reservoir, drilling or completions engineering
•Experience in leading multi-discipline projects - especially full field development planning of horizontal plays
•Experience in shale plays, unconventional assets, and tight-oil reservoir development
•Strong background in economics
•Ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment; flexible with the demands of a growing company
•Ability to meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications* Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering
•Proven ability to mentor other engineers
•Strong ability to communicate effectively across all functions in the organization
•Actively participates in industry technical events
•Educated in apply risk analysis and decision quality methodologies
•Working knowledge of Aries and Enersight
