2 weeks on/2 weeks off (14/14 hitch) OR 3 weeks on/3 weeks off – 12-hour days
Hours over 40 are paid time and a half
POSITION OVERVIEW: Offshore Termination & Joint (Cables) Inspector
The T&J Inspector is responsible for the inspection and the quality assurance of jointing, termination and testing of cables, in compliance with client HVC requirements and standards during offshore/onshore T&T phase of project execution
- Act as the client’s representative for inspection and quality assurance of jointing, termination, and testing of cables at site
- Understand the client’s quality technical requirements (TRs) and relevant IEC standards, ensuring that suppliers remain in full compliance
- Inspect cable systems, including cable hang-off systems and termination of HVC and FOC at OSS or FOU locations, in accordance with project requirements, standards, and designated inspection reporting tools
- Witness VLF, sheath, HVRT, and OTDR testing, along with any other required cable or termination tests
- Review T&T-related documentation, including procedures, to ensure alignment with accepted RAMS from suppliers or contractors prior to offshore/onshore T&T campaigns
- Comply with and enforce all client QHSE requirements at site
- Prepare Daily Progress Reports (DPRs) to the Export or Array Cable Technical Scope Manager (depending on allocated scope) and update progress tables as required by the project
- Ensure approved Permits to Work (PtW) are in place prior to T&T activities at site
- Interface and maintain effective communication with WTG, FOU, OnSS, OSS, CONS, and OCI teams at site
- Prepare or adapt inspection checklists for testing activities during offshore/onshore T&T phases, including use of the Digital Inspection Tool (DIT)
- Ensure cable T&T activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and within agreed timeframes, including verifying that calibrated test equipment is available at site
- Monitor weather data to ensure T&T activities are performed within acceptable weather windows
- Complete and hand over daily shift reports to the next inspector, ensuring smooth communication between shifts
- Manage site-level changes not covered under formal change requests
- Oversee punch lists, handover certifications, NCR management, and Lessons Learned (LL) documentation during the offshore/onshore T&T phase, including reporting non-conformance or damage notifications to the client’s Project Engineer
- Review and approve T&T-related as-built documentation
- Participate in internal team and external supplier T&T-related meetings
- Provide input to the Monthly HVC Quality Report, including current NCRs, Lessons Learned, risks/opportunities, and quality-related issues for the Lead QA Project Engineer

- Strong familiarity with high-voltage (HV) equipment, including cables and accessories (33 kV and above)
- Ability to interpret industry standards, client technical requirements (TRs), and experience with HVC and FOC testing
- Hands-on skills in HV/MV cable jointing and termination, cable ladder and cleating systems, subsea cable hang-off systems, and earthing and bonding of cable systems
- Solid understanding of QHSE practices in industrial, construction, or offshore environments
- Training or experience in:
- HV/MV jointing
- VLF testing
- OTDR testing
- Safe work in high- and low-voltage substation environments
- Knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015
- Preferably experienced with client-specific IT tools and procedures
4 month contract with high likelihood of extension
