JOB SUMMARY

The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment to support O&M operations. The ideal candidate will possess an NCCCO certification for mobile crane operation with the ability to operate all equipment on-site in support of O&M operations.

The Heavy Equipment Operator will be required to operate all equipment on the job site including tractor-trailers, lowboy trailers, front-end loaders along with many attachments, zoom boom, snow blowers, motor grader, excavator, skid steer, vac truck, potable and grey water vac trucks. The ability to successfully complete daily walk-around inspections of tractor-trailer and/or equipment, load inspections, and properly securing equipment weighing up to 125,000 pounds. Inspect all load-securing devices. This will be a multi-skilled position with the ability to support many varying daily tasks required by the project. The ability and willingness to operate the required piece of equipment for the respective job for the day will be the key to the success of both the position and the project. Other duties may be assigned as business needs require.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES

· Operate a wide variety of pieces of heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

· Hauling of potable and grey water operations as needed

· Perform fueling of non-mobile equipment (heaters & light plants)


· The operation of Vacuum Trucks


· Maintain pump in pump out stations

· Prepare, update, and maintain logs, records, and equipment maintenance schedules.


· Monitor equipment operation and identify malfunctions.

· Inspect, adjust, and assist in performing minor equipment repairs.

· Clean, store, and maintain equipment as required.

· Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.

· Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.


MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


· High-school diploma or GED.

· Five (5) years of Heavy Equipment Operating experience related to road maintenance and utility industry.


· Crane Operator and NCCCO Certification.


PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· Experience in the oil and gas industry and in the arctic environment.


CERTIFICATIONS

· Current DOT medical card and Class A commercial driver’s license with tanker and HAZMAT endorsements.


· Driving record must meet Company requirements.

· North Slope Training Cooperative certification may be required.

WORKING ON THE NORTH SLOPE

While working on the North Slope of Alaska, your lodging and food will be provided to you. All camps provide warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms. Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift. Wi-Fi and Internet is free and available within the camp. Services vary depending upon where you are staying; however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self-serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc. Each facility will have its own accommodation and policies that will be reviewed upon on-site orientation.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

A candidate must be able to meet the following non-exclusive requirements:

Meet the ASRC Energy Driving Records and Motor Vehicle Use Policy.

Take and pass a pre-employment drug test which may include both UA and hair testing.

Meet the physical requirements of this position including working in a remote location under arctic conditions.

Required to take and pass a Fit-For-Duty Exam

Required to complete and successfully pass a background check.

Must be able to obtain and maintain an access badge for the work location.

The availability of this position is contingent upon the Company’s continued operational needs once training is completed.
