Modular Home Direct is a steel-frame modular home distributor based in South Salt Lake, Utah. We design and supply customizable steel homes and home kits to customers across the U.S. (and beyond), helping them go from “idea” to a real, buildable project. Most of our business is done over the phone with customers who find us online and reach out for help with pricing, design, and the overall process.
We’re genuine, direct, and focused on delivering a better experience than what most people expect in this industry. Our process is always improving, and we’re now building a new in-office sales team at our South Salt Lake location.
We are looking for highly motivated, self-driven sales representatives who are serious about commission-only, high-ticket sales and want to grow with a fast-moving company.
We offer a wide range of steel-frame modular homes and home kits to clients nationwide. You will work in-office calling and handling inbound leads that come in from our website and marketing (no cold calling lists).
- Have detailed phone conversations with customers about their project, property, and budget
- Ask the right questions to understand what they want and what’s realistic
- Go over our products, pricing, timelines, and basic financing options
- Prepare quotes and use our provided contracts to send out for signature
- Guide customers through to a clear “yes” or “no” — and close the sale when it’s a fitThese are warm leads from people actively looking into modular or steel homes. Many are serious but may also be skeptical or have had bad experiences elsewhere, so you must be comfortable answering tough questions and building trust fast over the phone.
This position is commission-only. There is no base salary.
- Homes currently range roughly from $50,000 to $288,000+
- You receive 10% on each qualifying sale
- That means you can earn $5,000–$28,000+ per order, depending on project sizeThere is no cap on commission. If you’re consistent, handle your pipeline well, and learn the product, the income potential is very high — but it is directly tied to your performance and your ability to close.

- Call, email, and text leads promptly and follow up consistently
- Walk customers through the sales process from first contact to signed contract
- Answer questions about homes, pricing, process, and basic financing options
- Put together quotes and negotiate within company guidelines
- Prepare and submit sales contracts and obtain deposits and payments
- Maintain accurate notes and records for each customer in our system/CRM
- Prepare simple weekly and monthly updates on your pipeline and results
- Meet or exceed sales targets while maintaining honest, transparent communication
- Provide a high level of customer service, even in difficult or emotional situations
- Proven experience in sales (high-ticket, phone sales, real estate, or home improvement is a plus)
- Comfortable working in-office in South Salt Lake (this is not a remote role)
- Strong phone presence and excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to handle skeptical or stressed customers calmly and professionally
- Confident with basic computer tools (MS Office, email, PDFs; Paint/Photoshop/Adobe Acrobat is a plus)
- Highly motivated, target-driven, and comfortable with commission-only pay
- Strong organization, follow-up, and time management skills
- Ability to build trust and long-term relationships with clients
- Openness to coaching and feedback — and willingness to improve your approach
We have a steady flow of leads and are looking for the right people who can take them seriously, work full-time hours, and start as soon as possible.
