Position Overview: As the Mobile Crane Operator you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating mobile cranes to move heavy materials throughout the steel foundry including flasks and castings.
SHIFT: 1st Wages: $24.67 - $26.56
Primary Responsibilities
- Operate mobile cranes to lift, move, and position heavy materials and equipment within the steel foundry.
- Inspect mobile cranes before each use to ensure they are in proper working condition.
- Haul flasks in/out of the department and steel castings all around the facility.
- Operate a diesel-powered floor sweeper.
- Operate a forklift once flask list & castings are done daily.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
- Communicate with other team members to coordinate lifting and moving operations.
- Maintain accurate records of crane operations, including maintenance and inspection logs.
- Assist with rigging and securing loads as needed.
- Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to the appropriate supervisor.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Other duties as assigned.
Key Selection Criteria
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Able to pass a written & driving test for mobile crane, tractor trailer, forklift, & diesel-powered floor sweeper upon hire.
- Prefer 1-2 years working with heavy machinery and manufacturing operating equipment.
- Experience in reading & writing.
- Ability to judge distances.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems required.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions and blueprints.
- Ability to read and write.
- Follow written process instructions.
