The Finance Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial activities of the manufacturing plant, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, internal controls, and financial reporting standards. This role involves managing cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support plant operations and strategic decision-making.
● Oversee the preparation of financial statements, monthly closing reports, and cost analyses.
● Maintain accurate records of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and inventory costs.
● Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Accounting Standards Board), and internal financial policies.
● Conduct financial risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.
● Coordinate the preparation of corporate tax returns
● Develop, implement, and monitor plant budgets, ensuring cost efficiency.
● Analyze production costs, material usage, and variances to identify cost-saving opportunities.
● Collaborate with production teams to improve cost efficiency and operational performance.
● Ensure adherence to financial controls and procedures.
● Supervise invoicing, collections, and vendor payment processing.
● Ensure timely reconciliation of accounts and resolution of discrepancies.
● Work with suppliers to optimize payment terms and maintain strong financial relationships.
● Manage payroll processing, tax deductions, and employee benefits payments.
● Ensure compliance with tax regulations, labor laws, and corporate policies.
● Support internal and external audits by preparing financial records and reports.
● Provide financial insights to senior management for strategic decision-making.
● Monitor cash flow, working capital, and investment planning.
● Support capital expenditure (CapEx) planning and financial feasibility studies.
● Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, CMA preferred).
● Experience: Minimum 5+ years in financial management or accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
● Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems, Avalara, Xero, financial modeling, and Microsoft Excel.
● Soft Skills: Strong analytical skills, leadership abilities, and problem-solving mindset.
● Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and sales and use tax regulations.
