THE POSITION

The Journeyperson or Apprentice Millwright will be responsible for all day to day mechanical assignments on field and plant equipment as well as maintaining a safe working environment.

RESPONSIBILTIES

- Start each day with safety in mind and work together to ensure all members of your site are safe.

- Work on troubleshooting, adjusting, and repairing equipment at various locations as necessary.

- Perform pump alignments based on preventative and scheduled maintenance.

- Maintain centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, mechanical seals, compressors valves and valve operators.

- Perform routine maintenance as per facility preventative maintenance programs.

- Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports as required in Maximo.

- Participate in maintenance and project installations as required.

- Comply with OH&S Standards, safety training requirements, corporate CSOPs, Site Safe Operating Practice (SSOP), and Operational Excellence requirements.

- Plan and execute lifting and rigging jobs including critical lifts.

- Fitting bearings, aligning gears and shafts.

- Attaching motors and connecting couplings and belts to precise tolerances.

- Preventative and predictive maintenance on rotating equipment.

- Overseeing of third-party support crews on overhauls and planned outages.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Currently registered as a Millwright apprentice OR Journeyperson Millwright certification.

- Previous experience within the chemical, pipeline or oil & gas industry would be considered an asset.

- Proficient computer skills with experience with Maximo application, or similar Maintenance Software programs an asset

- Self-starter who is able to work independently.

- Demonstrated ability to perform successfully in both a work team environment and individually.

- Excellent interpersonal skills and troubleshooting capabilities.

- Verbal and written communication skills.

- Valid H2S Alive, WHMIS, TDG, First Aid Certificates an asset.

- A valid driver’s license and ability to provide 5-year standard driver abstract (clean driver’s abstract).

- Available to work overtime and callouts as required.
