Position

Mid Range Planning Engineer, UG, Edmonton

Location and Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Chief Mine Engineer, this position will be in Edmonton, Canada.

Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain mid- to long-range underground mine plans, including production forecasts and life-of-mine scheduling.

- Design and optimize mine infrastructure, production zones, and sequencing in collaboration with geology and operations teams.

- Conduct scenario analyses, trade-off studies, and compliance tracking to support strategic decisions and performance monitoring.

- Support budgeting, cost modeling, and reserve/resource reporting aligned with NI 43-101 standards.

- Utilize mine planning software (e.g., Deswik) to model and schedule mining activities.

- Ensure all planning activities comply with environmental, safety, and Nunavut regulatory standards, adhering to B2Gold Nunavut’s HSE policies.

Desired Competencies and Requirements

- Five (5) years of underground engineering in hard rock mining, including three (3) years of experience in mid-term or long-term planning.

- Bachelor of Science degree in Mine Engineering or a related discipline is required; candidates with experience deemed relevant by the company will also be considered.

- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation and membership in the Nunavut Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists (NAPEG), or eligibility to obtain.

- Proficient in Deswik (CAD, Sched, IS) is required.
