About the Role:
Under the direction of the Project Manager, the MEP Project Engineer will play a key role in supporting the successful execution of all aspects of MEP systems from design through commissioning on a new-build hyperscale data center. This role requires a hands-on, proactive engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
•Support all phases of MEP project work from basis of design (BOD) through issue for construction (IFC) and commissioning
•Generate, track, and manage RFIs, coordinating responses with Engineers of Record (EOR)
•Lead the submittal process, coordinating with vendors, subcontractors, and EOR
•Participate in design reviews, site coordination meetings, and document mark-ups to ensure all systems meet code and project requirements
•Maintain and distribute project documentation, including RFIs, submittal logs, cost tracking, meeting minutes, and change orders
•Assist with the creation of bid packages, scopes of work, and subcontractor prequalifications during preconstruction
•Collaborate with field teams and QA/QC leads to support quality control measures and reporting
•Support the commissioning process, collecting test documentation and facilitating system turnover
•Assist in review of subcontractor invoices, change orders, and close-out deliverables
•Coordinate with the Owner, vendors, and internal stakeholders for issue resolution and ongoing technical guidance
•Ensure complete and timely compilation of close-out materials, including O&M manuals, guarantees, and owner training documentation
Requirements:
•Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture (or equivalent field experience)
•2–5 years of experience in MEP engineering or construction; data center or mission critical project experience strongly preferred
•Solid understanding of construction drawings, MEP systems, and project controls
•Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
•Comfortable working with cross-functional teams in a large-scale, matrixed environment
•Proficiency in project software tools such as Procore, BIM 360, CMiC, or similar platforms
