The Mechanical Technician is responsible for performing many functions including inspecting, checking, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing mechanical equipment in order to maintain high levels of safe and reliable operation. The Mechanical Technician is self-motivated and possesses a high level of skill; is qualified to direct others, lead projects, perform the most complex troubleshooting and repair tasks. They mentor and train other employees and may oversee contractors. This position covers the Sherhan Plant, and South Guymon Field in Sherman County and Hansford County, TX.

Responsibilities May Include:
Performing complex troubleshooting and root cause analysis of recurring issuesfailures on reciprocating engines, gas turbines, compressors, pumps, and ancillary equipment
Performing overhaul of compressors and enginesengine swings, including foundation work, initial alignment, testing, and startup
Ensuring the safe, effective and efficient execution of maintenance and operation activities in accordance with company standards and regulatory guidelines
Complying with company policies, procedures and directives
Performing work on emission control equipment
Performing required preventive and corrective maintenance on various types of equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations
Identifying necessary maintenance work and initiating work requests
Driving a company owned vehicle responsibly within assigned area
Operating motorized equipment such as forklift or small tractor
Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose diverse mechanical problems
Ability to provide Quality AssuranceQuality Control over 3rd Party contractors performing major maintenance
Required Qualifications:
Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
Must be 18 years of age or older
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Must maintain a valid driver's license
Must live/relocate within 1 hour of reporting location
Maintain all required operations and safety training including required Operator Qualifications for DOT covered tasks
Willing and able to perform/comply, with or without a reasonable accommodation, with the following:
Climb various ladders and stairs ranging 5 to 20 feet in height on platforms and catwalks to perform maintenance on various equipment
Raise and transport articles weighing up to 50 pounds
Capable of exerting push/pulling force of up to 130 pounds
Daily walk, stand, stoop, sit, climb, and carry materials on diverse terrains
Willing and able to work a rotating call-out schedule
Willing and able to work overtime, which may include evenings, weekends and/or holidays
Work alone a high percentage of the time with high level of accountability
Work either inside or outside in conditions that may include extreme cold, extreme heat, humidity, or other inclement weather
Wear fire-retardant clothing and other personal protective equipment, such as steel-toe boots, ear and eye protection
Preferred Qualifications:
2 or more years maintenance/mechanical experience in oil and gas or related industry
Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, Word, and available maintenance programs
High level of mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
Experience with reading schematics, manuals and drawings
A sound knowledge of code requirements, including OSHA, Process Safety
Midstream
The Phillips 66 Midstream business is a safe, reliable, and trusted provider for the movement, storage, gathering, and processing of liquid or gas energy via pipelines or terminals. We are an industry leader in logistics and operate or manage more than 70,000 miles of pipelines that transport crude oil from oil fields to refineries and finished products from refineries to storage terminals. We operate 39 terminals that supply finished products to consumer gas stations, as well as crude oil and NGL storage terminals and NGL fractionation facilities. Our capabilities include extensive natural gas gathering and processing operations, enhancing our wellhead-to-market strategy. We also provide the connectivity between the various Phillips 66 business units.
