Description:
Summary
The primary function of this position is to maintain all mechanical systems of the plant crushing equipment under the supervision of Operations Management and the Plant Mechanic and to ensure the grounds of the plant machinery are clear of material and debris.
Functional Responsibilities
•Exhibit a strong work ethic with the ability to take direction and work in a team setting and independently.
•Adhere to Permian Basin Materials Code of Conduct and company policies.
•Assist and perform troubleshooting of plant equipment, preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure the proper functioning of plant crushing equipment to include changing out parts, replacing worn parts, and greasing critical elements within the machinery.
•Utilize and operate various types of hand, power, precision, or machine tools necessary to support a safe and productive working environment.
•Maintain and further develop a working knowledge of all aspects of the plant crusher and associated equipment.
•Maintain a preventative maintenance schedule and document all work performed on the plant equipment.
•As knowledge advances, be able to diagnose machine malfunctions and make repairs.
•Maintain all tools in good working order and ensure all tools are kept secured and accounted for.
•Ensure grounds under and around the plant machinery are kept free of material and debris.
•Communicate existing and potential issues with operations management and the plant mechanic.
•Perform other duties as directed.
EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/CERTIFICATIONS
•High School diploma or equivalent
•1-3 years of relevant experience preferred.
•Demonstrated mechanical ability or the willingness to learn mechanical skills.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
•Candidate must be drug free.
•Position requires moderately strenuous physical work.
•Lift and carry up to 40 pounds from floor to 3’ – 6’ occasionally,
•Push or pull up to a maximum force of 100 pounds occasionally,
•Climb in and out of equipment 50+ times per day,
•Climb up and down ladders occasionally,
•Sit or stand for extended periods of time,
•Use hands, fingers, and feet to operate and/or service heavy construction machinery and concrete mixers and haul trucks,
•Travel safely while walking and while operating heavy machinery and/or trucks over uneven terrain, roads, and pavement,
•See, hear, and respond to verbal, visual, and written instructions and to moving heavy construction machinery,
•Wear proper protective equipment including hard hat, safety glasses, high visibility clothing, steel-toed boots, and gloves,
•Observe all company Safety policies on company premises and while operating heavy construction machinery,
•Continually work in extreme hot and cold weather conditions,
•Work safely in wet, muddy, and slippery conditions occasionally,
•Environment will vary from outdoors with varying noise levels and vibrations associated with construction equipment, and exposure to building materials, dust, and dirt at operating sites to a normal office environment.
