Mechanical Superintendent (Commissioning)

The Mechanical Commissioning Superintendent shall oversee and manage the mechanical commissioning field activities per the guidance of his / her supervisor in a safe and efficient manner. He / she shall manage the daily safe execution of the mechanical commissioning technicians. Candidate shall have a deep understanding of various mechanical systems and equipment knowledge, and overall experience of performing commissioning tasks.

RESPONSIBLITIES

· Lead by example while demonstrating a personal commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment by ensuring personal safety and as far as is reasonably practical that of others through participating in regularly scheduled safety meetings, site safety visits and safety conversations.

· Support the planning and manage the execution of daily mechanical commissioning activities within the Control of Work process which may include generating of work permits, performing energy isolations and attend permit review meetings as required.

· Review and approve the pre-commissioning or static commissioning checks executed by the mechanical commissioning technicians as per the required documentation such as ITR’s or checksheets.

· Support multi-discipline dynamic commissioning activities as directed by the lead commissioning coordinator / engineer.

· Oversee and / or perform Pump/Motor alignment activities

· Support uncoupled motor runs (including vibration analysis);

· Oversee and / or perform coupled pump runs (including vibration analysis);

· Oversee and / or perform millwright/piping duties that pertain to pumps, vessels, motors, and valves;

· Develop permit to work applications and facilitate JSEA / Tool box Talks to team members.

· Perform sub-system and system walkdowns for acceptance and submit any documentation to the Completions team for handover purposes.

· Provide start-up support to the Operations team as required.

· Need proficiency in MS Office Applications.

· Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 10+ years of Mechanical Commissioning experience in a similar role.

· Experience working with multi-discipline teams.

· Relevant experience and technical certifications will be considered.

· Candidate should be a motivated self-starter with complex problem-solving ability.

· Excellent communication skills and team-oriented personality required to interface with Construction and Operations Teams.

· A detailed working knowledge of mechanical equipment and systems such as Pumps, Compressors, Generators, Static mechanical equipment, vessels, Hydraulic systems, chemical injections systems.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75.00 - $80.00 per hour
