Mechanical/Piping Engineer- Anchorage, AK

NANA Worley is hiring for multiple positions at varying classifications from Entry-level to Specialist Mechanical/Piping Engineers dependent on experience and competencies. For candidates with less than two years of experience, we encourage you to apply to our Engineer in Training (EIT) position.

The Mechanical/Piping Engineer position is responsible for researching, specifying, developing, designing, engineering, or testing components, equipment and/or systems in a multi-discipline engineering and design team. Individuals are expected to apply advanced knowledge of engineering principles, methods, and techniques to project assignments.

This position is intended for execution from the NANA Worley offices in Anchorage, Alaska, USA.

Other Experience

Responsible engineering experience including arctic pipeline, process piping, and/or HVAC system work. Prior experience should have included familiarity with ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8 piping codes and material specifications, and with ASHRAE standards.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to management and client.

Comprehend and apply principles of calculus, modern algebra, and statistical theory. Ability to work with concepts such as limits, rings, quadratic and differential equations and proofs and theorems. Ability to apply mathematical operations to work projects.

Apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with non-verbal symbols (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.) in the most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and current versions of AutoCAD design software. Proficiency in Bentley AutoPIPE or other piping stress analysis software preferred.
