We are currently seeking a Mechanical Operations and Maintenance Technician to join our team at Cricket Valley Energy Plant in Dover Plains NY. Cricket Valley Energy is a state-of-the-art nominally rated 1100 MW facility that employs a 3 X 1 X 1 configuration with GE 7FA.05 Combustion Turbines, ALSTOM HRSG and Alstom Steam Turbines. The position will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and repairing instrumentation, controls, computers, and electrical systems of the facility. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, the Combustion Turbine Generators, Steam Turbine Generator, HRSG, and auxiliary equipment. OMT-Mechanical’s must strictly adhere to all safety and environmental rules and regulations to protect employees and public safety. The position will report directly to the Maintenance Manager.
Approved salary range for this role is $100,796.80 - $103,043.20 as commiserate with education and experience. Qualified applicants must have at least 5 years of experience in a power generation or process plant working in a mechanical maintenance role.
Job Responsibilities
•Installs, repairs, calibrates and troubleshoots power plant rotating and stationary equipment.
•Lead the data collection and commissioning of the Computerized Material Management System Plan.
•Will organize and coordinate the overhauls of major equipment.
•Duties will include pump alignments, overhauling, calibrating, welding work as required including, but not limited to, the following:
•Performs (with assistance as needed) the maintenance of equipment by cleaning, adjusting, tightening, performing preventative maintenance or corrective maintenance and identifying equipment in need of repair. Other duties may be assigned by Facility Management as needed.
•Keeps O&M Managers fully informed of unusual conditions and current job progress as the job relates to facility operations.
•Visually inspects and listens to equipment to detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustment, or lubrication.
•Uses facility operating procedures and equipment technical manuals to maintain and repair facility equipment and ensure equipment is operated within operating range.
•Fully supports the use of a Computerized Maintenance Management System by displaying a proficiency in using the system and dedication to the facility maintenance philosophy. Performs CMMS data entry and work order close-out in a thorough and timely fashion.
•Shows diligence in documenting spare parts usage and re-ordering.
•Performs capital project and/or major program responsibilities as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
•Reads, understands, and complies with all regulatory and facility safety procedures.
•Responsible for efficient management of the warehouse with Maintenance Manager.
•Works overtime, or irregular hours as needed to support reliable operation of the facility.
•Maintains the cleanliness of their designated areas.
•May be required to operate a forklift and similar equipment.
•May be required to drive a licensed motor vehicle to supply or repair facilities to deliver or retrieve parts or materials for the facility.
•Cooperates and participates as a team member.
•Cover duties of OMT as required
Required Skills / Knowledge
•Diagnoses and repairs the cause of mechanical equipment malfunctions such as pumps, valves, fans, piping, structures, tools, etc. Reviews oil analysis and vibration data and alerts manager of out of limit trends.
•Installs new mechanical equipment as required.
•Properly uses mechanical testing equipment and other similar tools.
•Reads meters, gauges, or automatic devices to record data such as temperature of equipment, vibration of equipment, hours of operation, pressure, and fluid flows and levels control.
•Repairs, replaces, dismantles, and examines defective parts along with lubricating and cleaning parts.
•Diagnoses cause of mechanical and operational malfunction or failure of equipment.
Experience
•At least 5 years of experience in a power generation or process plant working in a mechanical maintenance role.
Education Requirements
•High School diploma or equivalent required.

•Stand, walk, use hands and fingers dexterously to operate tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and communicate orally.
