Position Summary:
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Technician with expertise in product design and manufacturing processes. Reporting to our Chief Manufacturing Officer, you will be a critical member of our team, responsible for designing robust battery system components and optimizing our production line. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between design and manufacturing, applying their skills in CAD, thermal/structural analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies like Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma to enhance product quality and production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
•Product Design and Development:
•Design and model components and assemblies for advanced battery systems using CAD software (e.g., CATIA V5, AutoCAD).
•Perform thermal and structural simulations and analyses (e.g., using ANSYS) to validate and improve product performance and reliability.
•Create and maintain detailed engineering documentation, assembly guides, and test reports.
•Manufacturing Process Optimization:
•Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles (5S, Kaizen, VSM) to identify and eliminate waste, streamlining production workflows.
•Develop and implement standardized work procedures and visual instructions to ensure consistent quality and efficiency.
•Lead continuous improvement initiatives on the factory floor.
•Quality and Sustainability:
•Lead and participate in Design-for-Manufacturing (DFM) reviews to ensure designs are optimized for production.
•Investigate production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to improve product quality.
•Identify opportunities for cost reduction through waste elimination and improved energy efficiency in the manufacturing process.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
•Proficiency in 3D CAD software (CATIA V5, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
•Experience with simulation tools for structural or thermal analysis (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL).
•Strong understanding of manufacturing principles and processes.
•Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team.
•Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
•Knowledge and practical application of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies.
•Experience in the battery, automotive, or consumer electronics industry.
•Familiarity with Design-for-Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
What We Offer:
•Competitive salary plus performance-based incentives.
•Opportunities for professional growth in a rapidly evolving industry.
•A collaborative, mission-driven culture committed to innovation, reliability, and sustainability.
