We are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Mechanical Engineer to manage engineering and quality functions within our assembly facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, process creation and improvement. This person will also have the ability to manage quality and engineer teams and work closely with production manager. This role is critical to ensuring product quality, improving processes, and supporting the day-to-day technical needs of the plant.
- Create and manage processes and procedures that lead to process optimization, and workflow improvements.
- Develop and maintain 2D and 3D CAD drawings (SolidWorks) for parts, assemblies, and equipment layouts.
- Work with suppliers to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
- Assist in new product introduction (NPI) by collaborating with marketing, production and engineering teams.
- Assist procurement in sourcing alternative parts when needed.
- Analyze and improve manufacturing processes such as assembly, welding, and finishing of components.
- Prepare and maintain bills of materials (BOMs), routings, and process documentation.
- Lead quality investigations and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with safety and country-specific regulatory standards (e.g., CE, CSA)
- Lead technical training of staff or clients when needed.
- Lead Installations of commercial equipment (domestic or abroad).
- Other duties as required
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 2–5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Strong problem-solving and hands-on mechanical skills.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with assembly personnel, supervisors, and cross-functional teams.
