Location: Bucks, AL 36512 Duration: 12 months + extension
- 10+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
- Accredited bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Professional Engineer license desired).
- Strong background in power generation or heavy industrial facility design (new construction or retrofit).
- Lead mechanical design activities for small to medium retrofit, environmental, and new generation projects.
- Perform pipe sizing and routing, material selection, pipe support design, valve selection, and equipment layout.
- Develop P&IDs, equipment specifications, datasheets for valves and equipment, and hydraulic calculations.
- Provide technical direction to designers and contribute to project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
- Prepare and review inquiry packages, specifications for tanks, pumps, and balance of plant equipment.
- Conduct system checkout and assist with startup as needed.
- Make sound, independent engineering decisions with minimal information.
- Proficiency in mechanical engineering design principles and applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong experience with P&ID development, piping system design/layout, and equipment selection.
- Familiarity with Pipe-Flo (or similar hydraulic calculation software).
- In-depth knowledge of process equipment: piping, valves (manual, control, relief), pumps, pressure vessels, heat exchangers.
- Expertise in relief valve and control sizing.
- Proven ability to build effective working relationships with plant staff, design engineering teams, and vendors.
