Mechanical Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities

The Mechanical Engineer selected for this position will be required to plan and design product applications. This person will be responsible for organizing highly complex activities for the design, development, implementation and maintenance of engineering products. Additionally, it will be required to provide cost estimate and documents for quoting new projects, documentation for completed projects and assisting sales personnel in technical matters.

Essential Functions

· Provide engineering assistance to size compressors, pumps, engines, valves, filters, and many other types of components for quoting and fabricating custom equipment.

· Select structural and piping materials based on engineering calculations, FEA, customer specifications and industry standards.

· Design Process and Instrumentation diagrams and review all other project drawings.

· Design control sequences/systems for custom built equipment.

· Help design structures and enclosures for various applications and equipment.

· Run ASME code calculations on pressure vessels and piping.

· Create quoting spreadsheets and technical descriptions for various quotes from standard factory equipment to complete custom designed equipment.

· Create test run procedures and collect test run data on equipment.

· Create Installation, Operation, and Maintenance manuals.

· Provide both internal and external customer support for all engineering related matters.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

· BS in Mechanical Engineering

· 4+ years’ experience in equipment design and fabrication of air and gas compressors, pumps, and oil field or industrial process equipment.

· 4+ years’ experience using AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar drawing software for both 2D and 3D drawing design and creation.

· Experience with ASME code vessel and piping calculations.

· Experience with quoting custom-built equipment.

· CAM software experience a bonus.

· Highly proficient at all Microsoft Office software, especially Word and Excel.

· Very high organizational and attention to detail skills.

· Able to multi-task and make decisions in a fast-paced, demanding environment both as an individual and as a team member.

· Good verbal and written communication skills.
