Pure Blue Tech is seeking a Mechanical Designer to assist in the design of a water treatment system. In this contract hire role, you will translate technical specifications into component specification, CAD drawings, and P&ID drawings. The right candidate will have experience in this job type in pressurized piping systems, preferably water purification systems.
This contract role will be a key position in the design of a Seawater Reverse Osmosis Element testing system capable of up to 1200 psi at 150 gpm feed flow. Pure Blue Tech (PBT) is a membrane and water treatment technology innovator and manufacturer with the mission of reducing the cost of treating and reusing water. The startup was founded to develop and commercialize patented fouling reduction technologies for industrial and municipal applications.
· Translate system operational specifications into mechanical component specifications relying on hydraulic calculations. Component specifications including pipes, valves, pumps, sensors, and frame design and sizing.
· Create detailed 3D CAD assemblies and P&IDs to be used as engineering plans in fabrication.
· Aid in functional design decisions as they relate to the technical specifications.
· Specify and ensure compliance with required regulatory and safety needs of assembly and its components.
· Assistance and industry connections in component procurement is a plus.
· Works diligently and quickly. Fast turnaround with a tight project timeline.
· Communicate with PBT engineers regularly to communicate progress and checkups.
· The contract will end when the necessary documents and specifications are reviewed and approved by PBT. This could include procurement work for the right candidate.
· Education: Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a similar CAD drafting education.
· Experience: 2+ years of relevant experience in hydraulic systems design.
· Drafting Experience: Well versed in 3D CAD and P&ID drafting.
· Regulatory knowledge: Has a working knowledge of necessary regulatory requirements for the components and entire system.
· Legal Authorization: Authorized to work in the U.S.[AH1]
Compensation: DOE $40.00 - $80.00 / Per Hour
Location: This position can be hybrid or fully remote.
