We have operations all over the world including production facilities located in Sweden, United States, and China. We currently have openings for Mechanics at our Newport, Arkansas location.
Under general supervision, performs preventive and repair maintenance on plant machines and equipment to minimize plant production downtime, ensure plant safety, and ensure efficient use of resources and materials in production processes.
1) Machine and Equipment Maintenance (performs some or all of the following performs more complex tasks under guidance of Sr. Mechanic):
Overtime may be required for vacation coverage, machine breakdowns, equipment outages and other projects.
Working knowledge of melting furnaces, roll casting machines, room air filtration systems, roll milling components and cooling systems, roll grinders, roll slitters, annealing ovens, coil coolers and air moving fans. Knowledge of lubricants and their proper uses in filters, oil reservoirs and grease fittings. Understand and able to apply knowledge of low and high pressure hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Working knowledge of shop machines and tools such as drill press, milling machine, metal lathe, bench grinder, pipe threading machine, band saw, core saw, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, and various hand and power tools. Work often requires compliance with close tolerances.
Considers the interaction of components/inputs with other components/inputs within and across systems in solving problems.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization; uses language precisely to explain ideas, procedures, and actions and describe situations; adapts message to listeners.

Personal Protective Equipment: Personal protective equipment includes but is not limited to safety glasses, steel-toed footwear, and hearing protection as required.
A High School diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. The required knowledge, skill, and abilities to satisfactorily perform job duties are normally acquired through obtaining a one-year certificate from a secondary technical or vocational school, plus six months to one year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
