Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Truck/Crane Mechanic to join our team. This individual will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and inspection of heavy trucks and cranes to ensure optimal performance and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge, experience with diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and a commitment to high-quality work.
- Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of heavy-duty trucks and cranes, including engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and transmission systems.
- Conduct thorough inspections to identify mechanical and structural issues and perform necessary repairs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems on trucks and cranes.
- Maintain and repair overhead cranes, hydraulic cranes, and other equipment used in the transportation of heavy loads.
- Replace worn-out components, such as belts, hoses, filters, bearings, and brakes.
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance are performed according to company guidelines and manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain accurate service records for each vehicle/equipment, documenting repairs and preventive maintenance performed.
- Perform equipment testing to ensure proper operation after repair or maintenance.
- Comply with all safety regulations, company policies, and environmental guidelines.
- Assist with the training of junior mechanics, ensuring a high standard of workmanship and safety procedures are followed.
- Stay up to date with the latest developments in crane and truck technologies, tools, and repair techniques.
- Proven experience as a truck mechanic, crane mechanic, or similar role.
- Extensive knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and mechanical systems on heavy-duty trucks and cranes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong diagnostic skills with the ability to identify issues and implement timely and effective solutions.
- Experience with a variety of crane models (e.g., mobile, tower, overhead) and associated equipment.
- Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.
- Crane certification or relevant mechanical certification is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions and on different types of terrain.
