# ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - C Shift - Thursday, 12:30pm-6:30pm - Friday, Saturday & Sunday - 6:30am-6:30pm
The following description of work to be performed by this individual is not intended to be all-inclusive. Rather, it focuses on the major tasks that must be accomplished.
- Exhibit active leadership in order to model and support the company’s vision and strategies
- Ensure that safety is always the number one priority at Alexandria Industries; promote and support a safe work environment and safety oriented culture by following all safety programs and guidelines
- Set up and run equipment safely and efficiently in order to maximize output while meeting customer quality requirements
- Accurately and efficiently fulfill customer orders:
- Review manufacturing orders in order to verify internal and external customer specifications
- Ensure all quality practices are being followed
- Perform inspections of aluminum extrusion orders prior to it entering the aging oven
- Check the hardness and temper of each alloy
- Package orders based on customer specifications
- Load trailers based on customer specifications
- Meet delivery schedules to ensure customer service and satisfaction
- Monitor and make correct process changes for packing the product or changing rates
- Provide suggestions and continuous improvements ideas to help better processes and procedures
- Distribute baskets to and from extrusion press lines
- Provide extrusion press support if needed
- Keep work area clean and orderly using 5S system (standardize, sustain, sort, set in order and shine)
- Continually support and improve the department’s key measures

- Perform all other related assignments (including special projects) as required in a professional and cooperative manner.
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent degree
- Experience:
- 1+ years of manufacturing experience preferred- Other required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to recognize safety concerns
- Knowledgeable in companywide computer systems and programs
- Ability to utilize the proper inspection equipment per designated work area
- A highly motivated self-starter
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Basic math skills
- Ability to detect minor defects in the finish of the product
- Ability to read die drawings and inspect parts according to customer specifications
- Ability to properly use appropriate measuring tools
- Knowledge of the age cycle and the effect it has on the material
- Teamwork
- Ability to take part in additional training e. Extrusion 101
