A Snapshot of Your Day

This role will be responsible for setting the trajectory for materials technology within the compression business. Planning future technologies and sharing knowledge about best practices for material selection, corrosion prediction, and failure analysis internally and externally is a primary focus. Daily work will involve solving material related challenges for sales, procurement, manufacturing, and engineering departments. A drive to improve existing technologies while leveraging history experience is critical for this role to thrive.

- Participate in and support the development of the global technology landscape for core, growth, and transformation.

- Collaborate across business areas to create innovative products based on customer feedback.

- Provide technical guidance and idea development to support the Sr. Manager and SPM process.

- Serve as the key contact for management regarding technical topics within the community.

- Develop the materials technical roadmap and steer future skillsets in the expert community.

- Engage in external conferences and publish insights on platforms like LinkedIn, while maintaining global technical responsibility in the community.

What You Bring

- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus but not mandatory.

- Over 10 years of experience in industrial compression materials selection, corrosion protection, surface coatings, non-metallics, and failure analysis.

- Established thought leader with a regional/national reputation in the materials community, thinking strategically in business models.

- Foster collaboration across Core Products, Technology Fields (TF), and Fields of Action (FoA) to drive innovative product development.

- Challenge the status quo by pushing technology forward and preparing for future operational tasks.

- Maintain connections with experts in related communities to enhance interdisciplinary understanding and create connections between topics.

Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, skills, certifications, and other business needs. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications.
