Key Responsibilities


Shared responsibilities

- Ensure compliance with ISO standards in the execution of tasks, as defined in the corresponding process mapping.


Specific Responsibilities

- Conduct research and development activities to optimize high purity alumina and processes.

- Implement and participate in design of experiments to improve high purity alumina techniques through hydro and pyro-metallurgical processes, and post processing techniques such as milling, spray drying, forming and sintering.

- Collect, analyze and interpret experimental data to identify trends, correlations, and potential areas for improvement.

- Utilize advanced characterization techniques to assess the physical and chemical properties of alumina powder.

- Identify and troubleshoot technical issues in lab-scale processes, proposing and implementing appropriate solutions.

- Installing, operating and maintaining the R&D and pilot line equipment.

- Creating summary reports and presenting findings and recommendations.

- Supporting literature review as directed by the R&D manager.

- Sampling and arranging shipment of testing materials to 3rd-party laboratories for assessments.

- Adherence to safety protocols; ensuring R&D area are always kept organized and clean.


Desired profile

- Bachelor's or master’s degree in Materials Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or a related field.

- A minimum of 3 years of practical, hands-on experience in working in research and development or industrial environment with familiarity with pilot-line and industrial equipment.

- Previous experience and knowledge of ceramic materials properties, processing techniques, and characterization methods is a very strong asset.

- Working knowledge of characterization methods like BET, Laser particle size analyzer, Dilatometry, TGA and ability to analyze the test reports.

- Proficiency in conducting experiments, analyzing data, and drawing conclusions.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.

- Strong communication skills to effectively present technical information and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsabilités


Responsabilités partagées

· Veiller à respecter les normes ISO dans l'exécution des tâches telles qu'elles sont définies dans le mapping des processus correspondant.


Responsabilités spécifiques

· Mener des activités de recherche et développement pour optimiser l’alumine de haute pureté et ses procédés.

· Mettre en œuvre et participer à la conception d’expériences visant à améliorer les techniques de production d’alumine de haute pureté par des procédés hydro- et pyro-métallurgiques, ainsi que des techniques de post-traitement telles que le broyage, le séchage par atomisation, le formage et le frittage.

· Collecter, analyser et interpréter les données expérimentales afin d’identifier des tendances, des corrélations et des pistes d’amélioration.

· Utiliser des techniques de caractérisation avancées pour évaluer les propriétés physiques et chimiques de la poudre d’alumine.

· Identifier et résoudre les problèmes techniques liés aux procédés à l’échelle laboratoire, en proposant et en mettant en œuvre des solutions appropriées.

· Installer, faire fonctionner et entretenir les équipements de R&D et de ligne pilote.

· Rédiger des rapports synthèses et présenter les résultats et recommandations.

· Appuyer la revue de littérature selon les directives du responsable R&D.

· Prélever des échantillons et organiser l’expédition des matériaux d’essai vers des laboratoires tiers pour évaluation.

· Respecter les protocoles de sécurité et veiller à ce que les zones de R&D soient toujours organisées et propres.


Compétences/profil recherché

· Baccalauréat ou maîtrise en génie des matériaux, science des matériaux, génie chimique ou dans un domaine connexe.

· Minimum de 3 ans d’expérience pratique en recherche et développement ou en milieu industriel, avec une familiarité avec les équipements de type pilote et industriels.

· Une expérience préalable et des connaissances sur les propriétés des matériaux céramiques, les techniques de traitement et les méthodes de caractérisation constituent un atout majeur.

· Connaissance des méthodes de caractérisation telles que BET, analyseur de taille de particules laser, dilatométrie, TGA, et capacité à analyser les rapports de tests.

· Maîtrise de la conduite d’expériences, de l’analyse de données et de la formulation de conclusions.

· Excellentes compétences en résolution de problèmes et capacité à travailler de manière autonome et en équipe.

· Solides compétences en communication pour présenter efficacement des informations techniques et collaborer avec des équipes multidisciplinaires.
