The Manufacturing Engineer is a crucial manufacturing support resource. This individual will optimize daily production performance with a focus on safety, quality, and productivity. They will coordinate manufacturing designs for tooling, fixtures, and equipment; lead/assist with long-term strategic projects focused on molds/tooling, machinery, and manufacturing process improvements.
Bolt Down Rubber & Fabrication: Individual will support compression molding and finishing department, as well as the fabrication department. They will interpret engineering prints and create programming for water jet and CNC router cutting functions, determine the most effective production routings for new parts, and monitor material consumption (scrap improvements). Additionally, they will provide engineering support for the fabrication, welding, and laser cutting areas. Knowledge of structural fabrication, welding, plasma cutting, water jet, and paint booths is desired.
- Provide technical assistance and consult with departments to resolve manufacturing tooling, fixture, process, and/or equipment problems.
- Analyze and evaluate the process workflow; make recommendations for change; follow change to ensure benefits are achieved.
- Prepare cost estimates for product, facilities, equipment, and capital expansion, and provide detailed economic justification.
- Train production employees in new or existing processes. Debug new processes for operational efficiency, safety, and quality.
- Aid department leaders, especially with capital equipment projects, facility layouts, project cost justification, and purchase requisitions.
- Implement Lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement principles throughout facility.
- Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement, and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Develop and implement cost-saving measures and quality control systems.
- Make improvements to current operations to enhance efficiency.
- Maintain knowledge of new and developing manufacturing technology, equipment, and applications; apply this knowledge to recommend and implement new technology and processes.
- SolidWorks or CAD software and drafting – 3 dimensional preferred
4. Minimum Education & Work Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering with 4-5 years’ experience in manufacturing
- Experience with injection molding, welding, tool design, rubber, TPU and/or troubleshooting preferred
