JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor the Material Handler role performs a variety of warehouse functions. This includes receiving, loading, forklift operations, pulling and returning items into inventory, assisting in inventory management and product count. The person selected for this role will safely and efficiently assist the facility in meeting daily production material needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to the following):
· Receive material to projects and inventory
•Report all discrepancies and product quality issues to appropriate supervision or department to determine if product will be accepted or refused.
•Put away inbound freight accurately and safely according to preferred methods
•Operate a forklift on a regular basis.
•Pick inventory material for production job bins and deliver to production per schedule
•Work with Purchasing on material shortages for ETA’s
•Maintains cleanliness within all internal and external Warehouse work areas
•Maintain job files with material issue sign off documents for audit purposes
•Process material returns from production back to inventory
•Work with purchasing to return material to suppliers
•Ship small packages as required, maintaining shipping log
•Assist production on load outs of packages
•Follow all applicable safety and sanitation procedures
•Adhere to all Company policies and procedures, including the safe operation of equipment and help to maintain a safe, clean work environment.
•Adheres and promotes compliance with all Company PPE requirements.
•All other duties as assigned.
COMPETENCIES (required skills and abilities):
•Minimum of two years’ experience in Shipping/Receiving in a manufacturing setting.
•Two plus years of experience with inventory control
•Two years’ experience operating a forklift
•One year experience in inventory control
•One to three years’ experience in the oil and gas industry
•Experienced user of MS Office
•Great communication skills
•High school diploma or equivalent
•At least 18 years of age
•Must be able to perform heavy lifting
•Must be able to manage multiple processes for employees in a fast paced environment
•Forklift experience required
•Must be customer service oriented
•Must be able to work as a team member
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 75 pounds. Stand, kneel, bend, stoop, move, and walk long distances in and around cluttered spaces.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job in a manufacturing and warehouse environment. The employee is exposed to hot, cold and outside weather conditions. Employee is working with moving mechanical parts, fumes and caustic chemicals are present. The noise level in the environment includes exposure to loud noise levels.
