Do you geek out hard on CNC machining and mill programming? I’m talking about the kind of dude who has watched every YouTube video on the craft, set up 5 Discord servers to discuss it, and you still can’t get enough. Sound like you. Cool, keep reading.
We are expanding our team and diversifying our product lines. The Manufacturing Engineer & Programmer will drive innovation and welcome new/challenging projects. This role is perfect for a mill machining and programming guru who also enjoys guiding others.
Here's what you'll be doing on our team.
Product Design & Programming:
•Develops, evaluates, and enhances manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
•Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
•Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods.
•Completes design and development process by training and guiding technicians.
•Create and/or approve drawings for in-house work on diversified machined products.
•Proficiently program DOOSAN SMX 3100LS (7-axis) mill-turn and HAAS VF-6
•Ability to determine appropriate cutting speeds and feed rates, matched with optimal tooling, to deliver the most efficient machining plan
Planning:
•Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs.
•Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
•Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching testing methods, and conferring with equipment vendors.
•Review and set up optimized product flow through standard work.
•Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
•Perform PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) studies.
System Analysis & Problem Solving:
•Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
•Determine how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes.
•Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
•Analyze current tooling and recommend upgrades to improve production.
•Solve manufacturing issues on the shop floor.
•Employ time studies on operations to improve throughput.
•Extensive knowledge of CNC Mill equipment, especially Mazak
