Job Summary
The Utility Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations and maintenance of utility services, ensuring efficiency and compliance with safety regulations. This role involves managing a team, coordinating projects, and implementing best practices in utility management. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a background in utility operations.
- Supervise daily operations of utility services, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
- Manage and train staff in rigging, bucket operation, and the use of bucket trucks for utility maintenance tasks.
- Oversee Foreman and UTTS completing maintenance activities, ensuring that safe production methonds are maintained.
- Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for mapping and managing utility infrastructure.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules to optimize service delivery and minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate projects related to utility improvements and community services.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to ensure operational efficiency.
- Prepare reports on operational performance, maintenance activities, and project progress.
- Proven experience in utility management or a related field is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of techniques, GIS applications, and bucket truck operations.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in operational processes.
- Strong computer skills and spreadsheet competency.

- Skilled in VMRs (Vegetation Management Reports) is considered an asset.
