Job Description

We are seeking motivated and energetic candidates to join us Manager of Portfolio Analytics to drive revenue optimization and market strategy for esVolta’s growing fleet of operational front-of-meter utility-scale battery energy storage projects.

The Manager of Portfolio Analytics is a critical member of the Commercial Operations team, reporting to the Senior Vice President. This role is responsible for developing and implementing revenue optimization strategies, forecasting methodologies, and comprehensive analytics frameworks for the Company's portfolio of battery storage assets. The Manager will leverage their expertise in energy market dynamics, commercial optimization, and data analytics to maximize portfolio value while providing strategic insights across various revenue streams.

The Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance asset performance, support market expansion initiatives, and structure offtake contracts aligned with the Company’s commercial objectives. This position offers the opportunity to drive commercial strategies in a dynamic energy market landscape while supporting the Company's growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities Revenue Optimization, Forecasting, and Reporting

Develop and implement revenue optimization strategies for assets operating in the daily markets, with primary focus on CAISO.
Coordinate, compile, and distribute quarterly revenue forecasts for the entire portfolio
Prepare monthly reports on portfolio performance and market outcomes
Formulate strategic approaches to enhance commercial performance of assets
Contribute to structuring and execution of offtake contracts, ensuring terms align with commercial objectives


Data Management and Analytics

Manage and organize vendor reports and datasets for efficient usage of data critical to informing commercial strategies and market outlooks
Utilize tooling to provide nodal analysis meant to contribute to views on basis risk, nodal volatility, and siting strategies
Establish analytical frameworks and methodologies that contribute to the commercial optimization of the business and drive revenue growth for the portfolio


Strategy Development and Market Expansion

Design strategies to optimize commercial performance of physical assets
Provide commercial support for company's entry into new markets
Maintain deep market knowledge, inclusive of regulatory dynamics and market trends, to help the company achieve its commercial objectives
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement innovative commercial initiatives that drive growth of the business


Skills And Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred
5-7 years of experience in energy markets or related fields; battery storage experience is a plus
Hands-on operational experience in CAISO markets is essential. ERCOT, WECC, MISO, SPP experience a plus.
Advanced proficiency in data analysis and statistical modeling tools (Excel, Python, SQL)
Experience with energy market simulation software and optimization algorithms
Expertise in financial modeling and revenue forecasting for energy assets
Proficiency in data visualization tools (Power BI, Streamlit, Tableau) for effective reporting
Strong understanding of CAISO market structure, rules, and settlement processes
Ability to leverage price forecasting and optimization algorithms to effectively implement successful bid strategies of tiered price/quantity pairs

Compensation And Benefits

The actual salary and bonus offered will depend on the specific skills and experience of the selected candidate.

Salary: $140,000Bonus: 25%

Location

This position is classified as remote; however, periodic travel to company offices, project sites or other meeting locations may be required on an as-needed basis.
