The primary purpose of this position is to manage warehouse and facilities functions within the Operations directorate.
1. Support the District’s mission to serve our customers and foster a positive workplace by personally choosing behavior aligned with our values and ethical code.
2. Ensure the District is in compliance with all federal, state and local regulations pertaining to the disposal of regulated waste materials by setting schedules, arranging for transportation, reviewing and determining disposal options, completing all related paperwork and auditing selected sites.
3. Oversee the maintenance, repair, and operational readiness of District facilities and grounds by directing in-house staff and external contractors. Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules, ensure timely response to service requests, and maintain compliance with safety codes, ADA standards, and environmental regulations
4. Ensure the upkeep and functionality of District facilities and grounds by monitoring facility conditions, recommending capital improvement needs, and managing contracts related to janitorial services, HVAC, and other facility-related services. Collaborate with other departments to ensure facilities support organizational operations efficiently and cost-effectively.
5. Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialized building services and capital improvement projects. Oversee the quality and timeliness of contracted work, manage facility-related budgets, and contribute to planning efforts for facility upgrades or renovations based on operational and regulatory needs.
6. Ensure effective contract oversight by performing Contract Work Manager duties as assigned by planning, coordinating and evaluating activities associated with departmental contracts.
7. Ensure the reliable operation of the fuel supply for the District’s vehicles by daily monitoring the underground storage tank systems, fuel contracts, rentals, repairs and services.
8. Ensure operational effectiveness and inventory integrity by supervising warehouse activities including the monitoring and direction of staff led by the Warehouse Foreman. Establish clear expectations for daily operations, enforce compliance with inventory control procedures, and lead initiatives to ensure accurate and timely inventory reconciliation. Regularly audit warehouse practices and systems to uphold safety standards, material availability, and inventory accuracy in support of electric and fiber utility operations.
9. Ensure inventory availability meets operational and project-driven needs for electric and fiber systems. Monitor usage trends, project requirements, and system demands to forecast inventory needs proactively. Collaborate in procurement planning cycles to communicate warehouse capabilities, delivery schedules, and material readiness.
10. Complete other duties as assigned to meet team, department and organizational goals.
Preferred:
Experience working with materials logistics in a utility, construction, or a high-volume warehouse for light manufacturing or industrial processing
An AA/AS is preferred; however, substitution is allowed for those with a High School Diploma or GED and 7 – 10 years of directly related experience as defined.
