Searles Valley Minerals provides customers worldwide with high quality soda ash, sodium sulfate, and boron products from a large saline mineral deposit in California s Mojave Desert. Searles Valley Minerals uses an environmentally friendly solution mining technology to extract mineral rich brines from over 25,000 acres of leased and owned reserves which it processes using proprietary technologies in three manufacturing facilities in Trona, California.
We are seeking a Manager of Searles Valley Services to oversee the effective operations of the Searles Domestic Water Company (SDWC) and the management of SV Residences. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring that SDWC delivers safe, high-quality potable water to residential and commercial customers in compliance with all regulatory and company standards. In addition, the Manager will provide property management services that minimize liability while preserving and protecting company assets.
Operate SDWC to meet customer needs within applicable state, federal and local laws, regulations, and codes while meeting SVM targets.
- Manage budget including CPI and General Rate Cases
Manage SVM residential and commercial properties outside of the plant fences to preserve and protect the assets and generate revenue.
Establish and maintain working relationships with governmental and regulatory agencies and consumers to ensure cooperation, assistance, and positive relationships.
Manage team for continuous improvement and professional growth to build organizational capability.
Manage, monitor and audit Safety, Security, Health and Environmental practices to ensure a safe work environment and compliance with company, federal and state standards.
- Support and promote all the elements of the SSHE Program.
- Establish and monitor progress for SSHE objectives and targets.
- Communicate to supervisors that SSHE is everyone's responsibility.
- Monitor the effectiveness of SSHE programs and take corrective measures as needed.
- Manage change using documented structural programs to identify and address risks associated with new processes and modifications to existing processes.
- Allocate/manage resources to minimize SSHE hazards and risks.
- Ensure employees have the required training for their respective job functions.
Must be supportive of all Company policies and procedures including safety, environmental, housekeeping, participate in SVM safety program, and demonstrate safe work practices.
- Direct supervision of up to six Searles Valley Services employees.
- Associate's degree in Business, Accounting or related field and eight to ten years management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of applicable California Department of Public Health and California Public Utilities regulations.
- Must possess a valid Drivers’ License subject to DMV record monitoring.
- Competent in use of office software such as Word and Excel.
- Competent in specialty software such as IMMPOWER, UKG, APTOS, Crystal Reports.
- Requires normal or correctable vision, normal correctable hearing, and manual dexterity.
- Occasional standing, walking and lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Climate controlled office environment with primarily quiet conditions.
- Requires up to 5% of work in physical plant areas with exposure to outdoor weather and loud noise.
