The Finance Manager, Clean Energy plays a key role in providing financial planning and analysis support for Generac’s growth strategy focusing on the Clean Energy business group. Responsibilities include the preparation of numerous forecast updates, annual budget process, three-year long-range plan (LRP), and related Executive presentations. The role also involves the ongoing preparation of a variety of financial analyses needed for business group management decision making (such as gross margin reviews, variance to budget/forecast reviews, and channel/product profitability reviews).

The Finance Manager will work closely with members of the business group and corporate finance and accounting departments, as well as cross-functional team members and leaders within the business groups. Other varied work could include participation in special projects as deemed necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, or related field
5 years of related experience


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Public accounting experience
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Previous experience with SAP ERP or equivalent tool
Previous experience with SAP Business Intelligence or equivalent tool
GL accounting experience
Manufacturing experience

Financial Reporting & Analysis for the Clean Energy Business Group:

Owns compilation, review, and communication of the business unit financial statements to the Clean Energy leadership team
Investigates monthly variances to Budget, PY or Forecast and pro-actively communicates variances to the Clean Energy and Generac leadership teams Partners with controllership as needed to refine the market and product P&Ls to more accurately reflect true costs of doing business.
Improve analysis on standard cost tracking by product SKU & market.

Ownership Over Accounting & Sales Program Administration:

Oversee the team’s financial analyst in accounting for our Sales Program (“AFE”) & Rebate accruals
Partner with HR to provide timely results under our Sales Incentive Program (“SIP”).
Perform lookback analyses on our promotions to verify intended result, understand root cause on variances to expectation and set clear path to refining process with sales team.
Support Director of Finance as the business group continues to expand involvement in month-end close, including account reviews/reconciliations.
Using a Continuous Improvement mindset, improve SPA documentation, execution, and analysis to ensure compliance with US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley, corporate policies and procedures.


Forecast & Budgeting:

Partner with sales ops and supply chain to ensure the sales and SIOP plans are in alignment with financials forecasts (income statement and cash flow)
Participate in forecasting and budgeting of sales-related KPIs, including discounts & allowances, freight revenue/expense & other direct selling expenses while working to reduce variation in forecast variances.
Partner with cost center leaders to maintain an accurate view of upcoming center level expenses within operating expenses.

CE Finance Process Improvements and CI Champion:

The Finance Manager is always looking for and filling pipeline with areas for process improvement within the CE Finance and broader CE team.
Oversee PEP for the CE team, lead meetings, communicate gaps, focus on long-term PEP pipeline.


Other duties as assigned to include:

Assist with presentations and bridges for monthly reviews as needed
Provide guidance, coaching, and oversight to junior members on the team
Create BI reports as needed for analysis

Specific conditions of this job include are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
