The Design Support Services Manager will lead a team of designers, drafters, and support personnel responsible for project execution and maintaining facility drawings and deliverables. This role will provide leadership to supervisors and lead designers while focusing on strategic objectives and customer needs. It will work closely with internal stakeholders to shape contingent workforce strategies and may directly manage contingent talent when required.

Responsibilities/Expectations:
- Establishes clear expectations for team responsibilities so communication protocols, work allocation, and reporting requirements are defined with lines of accountability
- Communicates and coordinates with internal and external customers to establish scope, cost, and schedule expectations for requested work products
- Manages division of work, organizational structure, work methods, techniques, and procedures so standards for timeliness, cost, and quality are met and coordinates resource availability with other areas and hires contract resources when needed
- Provides timely and accurate reports on progress, critical issues, and ongoing efforts
- Oversees administrative responsibilities including group budgets, expense reviews, performance assessments, and timesheet approvals Demonstrates a strategic mindset by anticipating future trends, identifying long-term opportunities, and aligning team goals with organizational objectives
- Other duties as assigned
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field; twelve (12) years in the energy industry and a minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience and two (2) years of supervisory experience
- Preferred: Master’s Degree in Engineering or a related field; fifteen (15) years in the energy industry and a minimum of seventeen (17) years of experience and two (2) years of supervisory experience
- Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills
- Broad understanding of design and drafting industry standards and engineering and drafting fields, which includes piping, mechanical, civil, structural, electrical, and instrumentation
- Knowledge of the operational and field environment for work practices and conditions in process plants, gathering systems, pipelines, and stations

Reports may include other formal leaders. Understands the department's business drivers and customers. Limited involvement in the day-to-day activities of direct reports. Relies heavily on supervisors and/or designer lead positions. In collaboration with internal stakeholders, provides strategic thinking and direction regarding contingent workforce needs, and may directly manage contingent talent.
