The Business Insights department’s role is to plan, design, develop, launch and maintain efficient business intelligence solutions and to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of these solutions in support of core organizational functions. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical, acumen, and problem-solving skills to help identify and create/resolve organizational insightful data analytic and reporting solutions to maximize business effectiveness. This individual needs to understand database relationships, be able to transform data into a reportable and actionable set of information that is highly usable by various business functions and be able to translate information into insights through visualization tools.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Data Warehouse Development Lifecycle ownership, advancement, and adherence to defined standard practices
- Perform high quality and complete confident unit testing on your work
- Practice Test Driven Development methods
- Collaborate with team(s) on up and downstream impacts to changes
- Document support and configuration requirements for all solutions
- Create or edit data quality tests to build a high trust solutions
- Create and actively participate in solution review processes
- Demonstrate significant deliverables to drive awareness and understanding
- Triage the best person/team to handle particular requests
- Adhere to solution and performance standards
- Satisfy purpose of “Delivering QualiTEA solutions that delight our customers”
- Execute work on new & existing solutions where effort is sponsored and organizationally managed
- Participate and lead planning efforts including detailed design, work breakdown, assignment, and estimations
- Manage project activity and progress in Azure Dev Ops on a daily basis
- Execute project at aggressive pace keeping the project status in the green every week and deliver project within the expected timeline without sacrificing quality
- Partner with Project Managers, Business Analysts, Subject Matter Experts, and other needed resources to minimize blocks, delays, and confusion
- Manage solution processing, quality, and support through a defined hyper care period and transition ownership to the operations team

- Correct solution issues not directly impacting business processes and usage
- Reengineer poorly performing and poorly maintainable solutions
- Meet expected throughput rates
- Bring overall backlog of technical debt downExpect to manage a small team that is focused on implementing larger scale projects (3+ months) typically with a project manager, allocated business analysts, and an assembled steering committee. Expect to do budget management and allocation for capital asset accounting with Accounting.
Bachelor's degree (B.A. / B.S.) or equivalent in technical or other appropriate field from an accredited college or technical school; and two to four years related experience and/or training. In certain circumstances, TEA may waive the education requirement if the applicantpossesses sufficient skills, expertise, and experience that warrant consideration for the position.
Demonstrated ability to implement, support, and use Business Intelligence, Data Mining, Energy Trading and Risk Management and RTO market interaction and collaboration tools is desirable, with specific knowledge of SQL, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, multi-dimensional database structures.
Experience related to Allegro Horizon, Hartigen Power Optix, Microsoft Office SharePoint Services, Windows SharePoint Services, and Microsoft Exchange is highly desirable.
Additional education, experience, and demonstrated proficiency across multiple products will be considered when evaluating employees for more senior position levels.
