The Manager of Benefits will develop and implement strategies in support of benefits and retirement initiatives. Responsible for overseeing the design, plan, and implementation of benefits and retirement programs. Manage staff and operations, and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies as well as ongoing alignment with GLWA goals. Manage the overall advancement of benefit and retirement programs, operations and staff including but not limited to health, prescription, dental, vision, disability, leave, life insurance, Employee Assistance Program, flexible savings and health savings accounts. Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors and providers and ensure procedures are followed to minimize costs. Review & ensure contracts and recommended amendments with vendors are processed through internal processes. Coordinate with Purchasing, General Counsel, and outside consultants, review proposals, and lead the evaluation team to recommendations. Oversee retirement program administration, including enrollment, contributions, and ensure timely and accurate processing of retirement plan transactions. Serve as the main point of contact for retirement program vendors, including recordkeepers, trustees, and consultants, and manage vendor relationships to ensure efficient and effective delivery. Communicate retirement program information to employees, including plan changes, updates, and educational materials, through various channels such as presentations, emails, and intranet to enhance understanding and engagement. Conduct regular audits and reviews of retirement program data, including employee contributions, vesting and eligibility, to identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues. Stay abreast of changes in retirement program regulations and industry trends and proactively recommend adjustments to retirement program strategies and policies to align with evolving needs and requirements. Oversee the development, implementation, administration, and maintenance of benefits programs, policies and procedures, including open enrollment. Analyze rate renewals and evaluate alternative plan design; recommend benefit, carrier, and rate changes to Executive Leadership. Analyze benefits experience for ensuring programs are equitable, meet team member needs, comply with legal requirements, and are cost effective. Manage leave program in accordance with federal and state laws (FMLA, ADA, Parental Leave, STD, LTD and USERRA). Oversee return to work and assist with job accommodations with Organizational Development colleagues and management. Prepare and communicate information about benefit programs, procedures, changes, and government-mandated disclosures. Monitor regulatory compliance with policies, state and federal requirements. Audit benefit plans for compliance with government regulations. Coordinate with Risk Management on worker’s compensation claims and benefit usage. Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources management or closely related field. Five (5) years of recent management and operational experience gained through progressively more responsible positions in a benefit-related area. Other Requirements: Must have a valid Driver’s License.
