Hourly Starting Salary Range: $23.89 to $30.11 (DOQ)
Normal Work Hours: Day Shift 7:00am to 3:30pm, M-F, with some overtime required.
Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, and working as part of a team, performs assigned duties as necessary to maintain Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants, Transmission and Collection Systems, and various types of other District owned facilities. Duties include performing repairs, preventative routine maintenance, and other maintenance related tasks on equipment, lighting, facilities, pipelines, appurtenances, appliances and vehicles. Also, assists with performing grounds maintenance and landscaping tasks.
- Assists with maintaining Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants, Transmission and Collection Systems, and various types of other District owned facilities by performing repairs and maintenance on equipment, lighting, facilities, pipelines, appurtenances, pumps, and appliances.
- Assists with performing minor repairs, preventative routine maintenance, cleaning, and other maintenance related tasks on vehicles, trailers, and mobile equipment.
- Assists with performing grounds maintenance and landscaping activities, to include repair and maintenance of irrigation systems, tools and equipment. May also assist with planting, watering, mowing, trimming, pruning, weeding, and other tasks as needed to maintain or improve District grounds and landscapes.
- May provide instruction to, or inspection of work performed by other Maintenance Workers.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- At least two (2) years of experience working in Water or Wastewater Utility Maintenance or a related field is required.
- Must possess, a TCEQ Class ‘C’ Surface Water or Wastewater Treatment Operator Certification
- Must be able to read manuals, work orders, and instructions.
- Must be able to fill out work orders, purchase order requests and other paperwork.
- Must be able to calculate amounts of lubricants, pipe lengths, and inventory.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Frequent walk, bend, squat, climb, and kneel.
- Ability to lift, push or pull items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to pass applicable pre-employment Drug Screen, Physical, and Background Checks.
