American Well Services is located in Midland, TX and provides well service rigs for the purpose of workover or completion operations. Along with the well service rigs, AWS offers a wide range of additional wellsite support services including, fluid transfer, fishing and rental services, hot oiling, frac tank rental and wellsite construction. AWS is managed by seasoned industry veterans and services blue-chip customers in the Permian Basin with a substantial asset base, strong safety culture and industry-leading operating procedures. American Well Services has partnered with Nichols Oil Tools to provide a full suite of completions and workover solutions to customers in the Permian Basin.
Maintains, installs, tests and repairs all devices associated with I&E (Instrumentation and Electrical) field operations processes and equipment. Responsible for repairs and preventative maintenance including but not limited to heavy equipment (Bulldozer, Maintainer, Roller, Grader, Backhoe, etc.); transportation equipment (tracker, trailer, dump truck, belly dump truck, etc.) and light vehicle maintenance.
- Preforms preventative maintenance on heavy equipment (bulldozer, maintainer, roller, grader, backhoe, etc.); transportation equipment (tractor, trailer, dump truck, belly dump truck, etc.) and light vehicle maintenance
- Identifies problems requiring maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment during inspection and repair process
- May supervise shift of Mechanics, oversee and assign workload of mechanical staff on shift
- Able to assist other technicians in completing assignments
- Does troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on all levels of the Oilfield equipment
- Understands basic operation and can operate field equipment
- Maintains and promotes AWS image with regards to unit PM and overall Unit Condition
- Drives Company vehicles over various types of road conditions and terrain. Road types include interstate highway, secondary highway, and off-road situations including two track roads
- Completes all departmental job tickets, mileage inspections, etc.; fills out time sheets, daily work sheets, DOT logs
- Able to work in both Shop and Field environments
- Conducts service calls in the field (well sites) as needed
- Follows and supports HSE policies at all times
- Knows and uses appropriate PPE at all times
- Washes vehicles according to AWS standards
- Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor
- 1 year Well Service equipment experience or equivalent
- Experience working on rigs, diesel transmissions, PTO’s, hydraulics, and controls.
- Basic electrical knowledge
- Basic knowledge or computers
- Valid driver’s license with clean record; Class A CDL preferred
- Ability to communicate, read & write in English
- Ability to clear/pass pre-employment screening, testing and job-relevant hiring requirements
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States, as required by law
- Able to stand; walk; use hands to, handle or feel; reach overhead with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 100 pounds
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and color vision
- Able to deal with wet and/or humid conditions and extreme heat/cold
- Work environment may include moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic chemicals, airborne particles and moderate to loud noise, requiring consistent use of appropriate PPE
