Primary Role:
The Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining production efficiency by ensuring that all processing equipment, overhead cranes, and facilities are operating according to manufacturer guidelines. This includes preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks to minimize downtime and maintain a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
•Lead by Example: Model the Pacesetter Way in all job activities to ensure alignment with company culture and values.
•Adhere to Company Policies: Support and maintain Pacesetter Steel Service, Inc.'s policies, procedures, and quality standards.
•Punctuality & Professionalism: Report to your workstation at the start of each shift, fully equipped in uniform and ready to work.
•Routine Maintenance: Regularly check and maintain oil, fluid, and grease levels in machinery, changing them as needed.
•Prioritize Production: Respond promptly to equipment issues affecting production, prioritizing repairs that minimize downtime.
•Work Area Cleanliness: Ensure the maintenance shop and work areas are clean, organized, and tidy after each job.
•Machinery & Equipment Care: Maintain and repair all plant equipment and tools, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
•Preventive Maintenance: Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and annual preventive maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment.
•Safety Protocols: Clearly communicate when equipment or machinery is unsafe to operate and enforce lockout/tagout procedures to ensure safety during repairs.
•Team Communication: Work closely with the Service Center Manager to address machinery issues and ensure equipment operates safely and effectively.
•Tool Management: Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, ensuring proper storage after each use.
•Breakdown & Maintenance Tracking: Document and track equipment breakdowns and preventive maintenance schedules.
•Facility Support: Assist in the movement of furniture and office accessories, as well as check and replace lighting as necessary.
•Winter Maintenance: Salt sidewalks and parking lots as needed to ensure safety during winter weather.
•Team Supervision: Oversee and direct associates who assist with maintenance and repairs.
•Safety Compliance: Always adhere to OSHA and Pacesetter safety practices in all job functions.
•Additional Tasks: Take on other projects and tasks assigned by management to support the overall goals of the company.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:
•High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent working experience).
•Comfortable with computer programs utilized by Pacesetter Steel Service, Inc.
•OSHA knowledge preferred.
•Crane Certification preferred.
•Manufacturing / Industrial Maintenance Technician experience preferred.
•Strong problem-solving skills.
•Ability to work in a team environment and with diverse populations.
•Ability to work flexible hours and after-hours availability.
•Knowledge and understanding of basic electrical, basic mechanical, basic pneumatic and hydraulic knowledge as well as basic burning and welding.
•Maintenance Technician experience in a warehouse/service center preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.85 - $33.66 per hour
