Position Description
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for working independently and with other refinery personnel to safely perform mechanical maintenance on mechanical components within the Refinery. The Maintenance Mechanic will assist in the construction of mechanical systems throughout the refinery, with a focus on long-term reliability. Maintenance Mechanic will be required to follow safe work practices and support company safety policies.
Responsibilities May Include•Repairs refinery pumps, seals, bearings, compressors, impellers, etc.
•Works with external contractors as necessary.
•Installs repaired equipment.
•Recommends spare parts and upgrades.
•Troubleshoots problems with pumps and recommends solutions.
•Performs basic maintenance on refinery vehicles.
•Primary focus on safety.
Qualifications
•Minimum 1 year of experience working in an industrial environment.
•Minimum 1 year of experience with mechanical seals, pumps, and compressors OR successful completion of a millwright/machinist apprenticeship/training program.
•Experience using computers to record data.
•Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, P&IDs, and procedure manuals.
•Strong mechanical troubleshooting aptitude and skills.
•Strong collaborative skills working with peers and management.
Preferred Skills And Knowledge
•1+ year of experience working as a machinist.
•Experience collecting and analyzing vibration data.
•Experience/Training in good lubrication practices.
•Experience/Training in reciprocating compressor troubleshooting and repair.
