About the role
The Maintenance Planner Electrical role offers an exceptional opportunity to work with a dynamic team responsible for care and maintenance of electrical distribution including eight Surface Substation, seven Hoists, two operating Mills, over 80 underground substations, communication systems including fibre and leaky feeder plus multiple surface building.
The roster will be 5 days on, 2 days off and 4 days on, 3 days off (9.5 hours). This is a local residential role. We offer a competitive salary, bonus structure and future growth.
Key result areas will include:
Coordinate site visits by specialized contractors and engineers
Ensure accurate maintenance records are maintained on major components/equipment
Issue long and short-range plans in conjunction with operations team
Coordinate amongst multiple departments for larger repairs or outages
Perform other duties as assigned
Assist with long-term planning to help verify critical equipment has spare material lists properly encoded in the Pronto maintenance management system.
Identify and review inventory levels of critical spare parts
Implement and maintain a continuous improvement process to minimize equipment failures and improve equipment reliability.
Liaise with technical experts on equipment as required
Maintain data in conjunction with outside engineering/technical firms and keep abreast of regulatory tests
Maintain relationships with other departments within RLO and with equipment manufacturer representatives.
Prepare, review and continuously improve job plans
Provide support for projects and major shutdowns
Support the engineering department and supply advice in the selection process of new assets, based on reliability, maintainability and cost of ownership considerations.
Manage OEM or similar bulletins for improvements and redesign
Review feedback from PMs and other sources and plan future repairs
Develop weekly maintenance schedules to optimize timing of PMs and repairs that best fit operational requirements
Manage the rescheduling of work
Ability to create and or modify existing single line drawings using AutoCAD
Review new equipment to site to ensure it meets applicable codes and standards
A comprehensive understanding of condition monitoring information, such as oil analysis and electrical thermal scans
Perform other duties as assigned.
About you
As the Maintenance Planner Electrical, you will have a Technical/Trades Certificate.
It is also important that you have/can demonstrate:
5 to 10 years’ experience in a planning capacity along with a background working in the mining industry (preferred).
Ability to read and comprehend technical language, operations manuals, and drawings
Solid understanding of preventative maintenance
Excellent understanding of preventative maintenance, particularly in the electrical discipline
Show initiative and maturity to analyze and solve problems
Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
Proficient in Pronto and Microsoft suite of products
In-depth knowledge of electrical principles, including those for power distribution, low and medium voltage, PLCs, AC motors and drives
Thorough working knowledge of relevant electrical codes and standards.
