SUMMARY OF CLASSIFICATION:
This description summarizes the requirements of a Maintenance Mechanic position. Perform general maintenance on all equipment, diagnose, and repair all equipment as needed. Follow direction from lead Senior Maintenance Technician and management group. Continued education to build skill set.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Maintain Safe Work Environment (i.e., Personal Protective Equipment, Proper Lifting Techniques, etc.).
- Perform preventative maintenance on all machines that are assigned, as scheduled, or as needed.
- Assist Senior Maintenance personnel as needed or as assigned.
- Assist Maintenance personnel on machine repairs as needed.
- Use Epicor ERP to log into and out of jobs, recording quantities as completed.
- Perform complex troubleshooting and repair of equipment as needed.
- Assist on repair of robots, including pneumatic repairs, hydraulic repairs, electrical and electronic repairs.
- Fill in when needed to complete duties of Maintenance Custodian.
- Work with senior maintenance personnel to acquire skills that will aid in promotion to the Machine Repair role.
- Replace light bulbs if needed.
- Facility maintenance and improvements.
- Use of lifts, fork trucks, hoists, and other company vehicles.
- Acquire new skills through continuous education.
- Clean machine work areas when work has been completed, removing debris left from maintenance activities.
- May assist in training new employees in similar maintenance role.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A high school diploma, GED, or equivalency.
Continued education, such as an associate degree in a related field and/or professional certification, is preferred.
Valid fork truck operators license or ability to acquire one within 30 days.
Must successfully complete Bloodborne Pathogen safety training, lockout tagout, confined space entry training courses within one year.
Specific job certifications may be required.
Strong communication skills.
Must be capable of working independently to perform all duties as outlined above.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to lift, carry, push, pull, grip, and grasp up to 35 lbs. Employees also frequently bend, twist, and reach and may stand and/or walk up to 8-10 hours per day. Must have full use of hands and fingers. There can be times when this job requires walking, standing, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Job includes working in a manufacturing facility. Job could consist of running industrial machinery or equipment. Must be capable of working independently to perform duties as outlined. Must demonstrate a good safety record and adherence to plant and departmental safety regulations.
