Position Summary
A Mechanical Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing setting is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing machinery and equipment to ensure smooth production processes
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
•Conducting routine inspections and maintenance on machinery (e.g., conveyors, pumps, motors).
•Lubricating, adjusting, and calibrating equipment to maintain optimal functionality.
•Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic malfunctions.
•Replacing faulty components such as bearings, seals, gears, and motors.
•Utilizing diagnostic tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters) to pinpoint issues.
•Installing new equipment and machinery following technical manuals and blueprints.
•Aligning and testing new equipment to ensure proper function.
•Following safety protocols (e.g., lockout/tagout procedures).
•Ensuring compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
•Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
•Reporting equipment malfunctions and recommending corrective actions.
Technical Skills:
•Strong understanding of mechanical systems, components, and machinery operations.
•Knowledge of mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
•Hydraulics and Pneumatics:
•Proficiency in maintaining and troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
•Experience with valves, pumps, cylinders, and compressors.
•Electrical and Electronic Systems:
•Basic knowledge of electrical systems, circuits, and wiring.
•Ability to work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and motor controls.
•Welding and Fabrication:
•Experience with welding, cutting, and fabricating metal parts.
•Familiarity with MIG, TIG, and arc welding techniques.
•Machine Tools Operation:
•Proficiency in using lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other machine tools.
•Ability to machine custom parts for equipment repairs.
•Predictive Maintenance Techniques:
•Use of condition monitoring tools (e.g., vibration analysis, thermography).
•Understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.

•Capacity to climb ladders and stairs to oversee production processes.

•Tolerance to work in hot, cold, or noisy environments.
•Ability to wear and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE).
•Ability to operate machinery and equipment safely.
•Fine motor skills for handling tools, devices, and production materials.
Certifications and Qualifications:
•Technical Certifications:
•Industrial Maintenance Technician, Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT), etc.
•OSHA 10/30-Hour General Industry Training.
•Forklift and Heavy Equipment Certification:
•Depending on the work environment, certification to operate forklifts and cranes may be required.
