Long Hole Driller

Thyssen Mining Construction of Canada is a recognized leader in the underground mine construction industry. We are currently seeking experienced Long hole Driller for a project located in Central Saskatchewan. This is a FI/FO position operating on a rotational schedule. We are seeking a skilled Long hole Driller Operator to operate and maintain the Sandvik DL422iE battery-electric long hole drill in an underground mining environment. This role is critical for achieving safe, efficient, and accurate drilling operations while supporting our commitment to zero-emission technology and automation.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate the Sandvik DL422iE to drill production holes according to drill plans and specifications.

- Utilize automation features for continuous and remote drilling operations.

- Perform pre-operational checks, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting.

- Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations.

- Monitor drilling performance and report data using Sandvik DrillConnect and other digital tools.

- Collaborate with mine planning and maintenance teams to optimize drilling efficiency.

Qualifications

- Previous experience operating underground longhole drills (Sandvik preferred).

- Knowledge of automated drilling systems and battery-electric equipment.

- Ability to read and interpret drill plans and technical drawings.

- Strong understanding of underground mining safety protocols.

- Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment maintenance.

- Valid underground mining certifications and driver’s license.
