Logistics Driver – EV Charging Equipment

About the Role

Universal EV Chargers is expanding our charging network across Illinois, and we’re looking for reliable Logistics Drivers to support our deployment team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the safe and timely transport of EV charging equipment, tools, and materials to project sites. You’ll play a key role in keeping projects on schedule by ensuring deliveries are accurate, equipment is well cared for, and our team has what they need on-site.

Responsibilities

- Transporting Goods: Safely deliver EV charging equipment, tools, and materials to customers, warehouses, and commercial project sites.

- Route Planning: Use navigation applications to plan efficient routes that meet delivery schedules while complying with traffic laws.

- Communication: Coordinate with dispatchers, site managers, and logistics personnel to confirm deliveries and resolve issues.

- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, refuel as needed, and promptly report any maintenance concerns.

- Cargo Management: Load, unload, and secure cargo using proper safety procedures and equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, straps).

- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, hours worked, mileage, and vehicle upkeep.

- Customer Service: Represent Universal EV Chargers professionally when interacting with clients and site personnel.

Qualifications

- Valid Illinois Driver’s License (required).

- Clean driving record (required).

- Prior experience with route driving, delivery, or logistics preferred.

- Ability to lift and handle up to 75 lbs safely.

- Familiarity with navigation apps and logistics/delivery software.

- Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor.

- Must be 21 years or older for insurance and vehicle requirements.

- Willingness to travel across Illinois for deliveries.
