Reporting to the Plant Supervisor, the employee is responsible for operating a well-maintained Komatsu WA380-8 Wheel Loader to load and unload OCTG from trucks, manufacturing plant and yard locations. The position also includes the preparation of OCTG for threading, and completing final processes to ensure the customer and threading licensors’ requirements are met. Casing sizes range from 2 3/8” to 16”. Lengths of Range-1 to Range 3.

What You'll Do:
Role accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
•Operate wheel loaders in a safe and skilled manner to move OCTG.
•Operate tools and equipment to handle and prepare the OCTG within the manufacturing plant, including horizontal/ vertical saws, MRE swage units, coil induction stress relievers, phosphate application tanks, coupling torque machines, overhead cranes, forklifts, pallet jacks, sand blast cabinets, Techno stamping machines, and various hand tools.
•Appropriate application and handling of hazardous chemicals as required by WHIMIS standards, including.
+ Paint.
+ Thread compounds.
+ Zinc and manganese phosphate.
•Follow Argus Standard Operating Procedures.
•Read and carry out work instructions detailed on Production Orders. Complete documentation for work carried out.
•Measure casing lengths and OD/ ID dimensions to close tolerances, using metric and imperial scales. Use math skills to convert measurement scales and determine average measurements.
•Provide general shop and yard labour as required.
•Identification of process improvements that will benefit workflow and assistance with implementation of approved improvements.
•Clean and maintain the work area and equipment used daily.
•Other duties as requested by the supervisor.
What You Bring:
•High school diploma with Grade 12 math or equivalent is required.
•Machine shop experience is an asset.
•Current wheel loader and forklift tickets would be an asset.
•Ability to use measuring equipment.
•General knowledge of products and services in relation to the oil and gas industry.
•General understanding of safe work practices, Quality Assurance requirements, and Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing) principles.
