Summary:

The Loader Operator is responsible for a variety of tasks. They typically use motorized equipment such as a front-end loader, yard truck, haul truck. Loader operators are also responsible for processing shipping and receiving paperwork.

Role and Responsibilities:

- Participate in mandatory stretching exercise program

- Receive direction and work orders from the Quarry Supervisor

- Verify that tools and equipment are in proper working condition

- Follow all safety regulations

- Verify the accuracy of quantity and quality of incoming material

- Shipping and Receiving

- Ensure packaging is secure and intact, labeled properly and if needed, re-labeling or wrapping

- Load/unload trucks for outside contractors, customers, transfer trucks and quarry transfers (occasional live loading required)

- Keep all material handling equipment in the best condition by conducting daily inspection

- Ensure product meets quality standards

- Complete required paperwork

- Maintain an organized and neat work area

- Setup and stage orders for shipping, document weight and quantity on load sheets.

- Finished product placed in the proper designated area

- Occasionally weigh and band finished product

- Haul cutting stock pallets to staging areas

- Scan all necessary paperwork to its final destination as needed

- Quarry stone if/when possible

- Snow removal and salt/sand as needed

- Make pallets off stock piles when possible

- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

- Certification in loader and forklift operation

- Product knowledge

- Knowledge of operating heavy equipment or forklift experience

- Able to work with minimal supervision, be proactive, and able to work with others

- Data entry, math, and computer skills

- Written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to read, write and speak English

- Ability to lift objects weighing between 50-100 pounds

Work Conditions:

- Works in indoor and outdoor conditions including varying weather and environments
