The PEMCO division of QSSI is seeking a dedicated Lighting Manufacturing Engineer with strong experience in Bill of Materials (BOM) management and manufacturing processes within the lighting industry. The ideal candidate will oversee product design, manage engineering changes, coordinate production, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to ensure the delivery of high-quality lighting fixtures and components efficiently and cost-effectively.
Maintain manufacturing design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and technical files. Create CAD drawings and cut sheets for projects as requested by the sales team.
Manage engineering changes for existing products, ensuring proper documentation, implementation, and communication across teams.
Create, review, and maintain detailed BOMs for lighting products—lamps, fixtures, and accessories. Develop planning BOMs aligned with sales forecasts to support adequate inventory levels and efficient production.
Collaborate with procurement to select appropriate components based on BOM specifications, quality standards, and cost considerations.
Generate work orders for new production runs and component parts. Support manufacturing operations by providing technical guidance, troubleshooting process issues, and implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime and defects. Ensure products are constructed according to drawings and BOM specifications.
Work with production and maintenance teams to develop strategies that improve manufacturing performance, streamline workflows, and reduce waste.
Partner with Quality Assurance to develop testing procedures, verify product compliance with standards such as UL, IEC, and DLC, and maintain consistent quality.
Maintain accurate manufacturing records, including process flows, BOM revisions, work instructions, and inspection reports.
Engage with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of components, address quality concerns, and resolve supply issues.
Lead or participate in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement initiatives to foster a culture of ongoing enhancements.
Ensure manufacturing processes adhere to safety standards, environmental regulations, and industry-specific certifications.
Hours: Generally Monday - Friday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm
