The Lead Service Technician is responsible for the field-level oversight, maintenance, and lifecycle tracking of high-pressure iron and hose components used in hydraulic fracturing operations. This role ensures these critical assets are safely managed, properly maintained, and efficiently moved between operational sites. Working closely with district teams, maintenance personnel, and logistics groups, the Lead Service Technician plays a key role in upholding equipment integrity, minimizing failure risk, and supporting consistent field readiness across all basins.
- Oversee the tracking, inspection, maintenance, and movement of high-pressure iron and hoses across operational sites.
- Plan and monitor third-party shop operations to ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with SOPs.
- Perform and document visual inspections, pressure testing, and maintenance of iron and hose assemblies.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, initiate repairs or replacements as needed, and complete all required work orders in the company’s CMMS system.
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist in audits, enforce safety protocols, and provide regular reporting on equipment utilization, condition, and movement.
- Promote a quality-driven, anti-defect mindset across all tasks.
- Train and mentor field and third-party personnel on inspection and handling procedures.
- Resolve work problems, adjust priorities to meet deadlines, motivate team members, and conduct daily toolbox talks.
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, logistics, and HSE teams to drive reliability improvements.
- Serve as a key point of contact with customers to coordinate asset delivery and pickup, clarify requirements, and ensure expectations are met.
- Ensure care and maintenance of shop tools, equipment, and work areas.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the broader asset management strategy.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Two to five years related experience.
- Able to read, speak and write English.
- Ability to use sophisticated computer software programs to achieve job functions.
- Strong physical and mental health to maintain demanding workload.
- Able to work under stressful conditions at times.
- Communication - phone communication, communication with personnel and vendors.
- Position will require a minimum of 40 hours per week with frequent extended hours required based on workload requirements.
- Position will require (24) twenty-four hours availability, with (7) seven-day weeks when workload requires, with time off scheduled per current workload.
