The Role
The purpose of the role is to help implement controls and practices related to cost and cash management, including forecasting, trending, and change management, budget preparation, schedule development, and compliance, which will support all project functional areas. To share visibility on the direction of the project early enough to enable course correction.
The Company
Torex Gold Resources Inc. is a Canadian mining company engaged in the exploration, development, and production of gold, copper, and silver from its flagship Morelos Complex in Guerrero, which is currently Mexico’s largest single gold producer. The Company also owns the advanced stage Los Reyes gold-silver project in Sinaloa, Mexico, and recently acquired a portfolio of early-stage exploration properties, including the Batopilas and Guigui projects in Chihuahua, Mexico, and the Gryphon and Medicine Springs projects in Nevada, USA.

What We're Looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Post-graduate studies in Project Management, Finance, or related disciplines an asset.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in project control, financial management, or cost control/accounting, preferably in the mining industry or medium-scale project environments.
- Strong knowledge of financial principles, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience with:
- Project cost, schedule management, budget preparation, forecasting, cash flow management, change management controls, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Project reporting and analysis for executive and corporate audiences
- High proficiency with project control and financial software, such as:
- SAP or Oracle (ERP systems)
- MS Excel (advanced level)
- Project management tools (Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent)
- Power BI or similar reporting tools (an asset)
- Ability to analyze and interpret project performance data (cost, schedule, progress, variances)
- Strong document management and reporting skills, with attention to accuracy and detail
- Proficiency in English (verbal and written) is required
- Native or professional Spanish proficiency is considered a strong asset
- Willingness and ability to travel 40–50% of the time to Mexico and the United States for project site visits, coordination meetings, and EPCM oversight.
Key Accountabilities
Project Schedule Analysis and Review
- Accountable for the application of the project controls module of project governance framework and ensures EPCM earned value controls adhere to thresholds set within the framework
- Assist in the review of earned value management controls and services, reporting and scheduling activities related to both management and field activities.
- Support evaluation of EPCM to help ensure adequate resourcing of project controls personnel to support project demands.
- Accountable for overall project scheduling, including schedule development and management between all required parties (Engineers, Contractors, Internal Torex team, etc.)
- Assist with project schedule and updates (update weekly work progress plans)
- Identify issues related to schedule and costs, and develop and execute risk mitigation
- Implement change management controls, which identify, help validate and suggest remedies for 'out-of-scope' issues and report to the Projects Leader.
- Accountable for managing EPCM cost management controls and services, related to both management and field activities.
- Assist with oversight and contribute to validation of cost management controls and services, related to both management and field activities.
- Support with the Project cost reporting
- Develop and manage the project owner’s cost budgets and cash flows forecasts in conjunction with respective budget owners (Projects and Corporate).

- Responsible for the development of the control account structure in conjunction with finance
- Assist in maintaining a detailed Financial Model for the evaluation of project economic returns
- Leads coordination with corporate teams to assist in review and help ensure project financial governance issues/requirements are addressed.

- Compile progress reports and forecasts when required (developing cost reports format, project work plans, and analyzing current schedule/cost trends and identifying potential problem areas) through consolidation of overall project reporting of both EPCM and Owner’s.
- Project reporting, including formal Owner’s Team Project reports as required to support various corporate reporting requirements.
- Coordinate with the Procurement and Contracts group to provide input on the contract process with regard to payment terms, allowing for the progression of work.
- Help ensure RFQ/RFPs have proper budget allocation, coding, and tender form details.
